Photographers Comment: We
called in to take a look at what was here as we were passing, but it was not at
the right time of day. Evening is the best time to see crocodiles and possibly
turtles, while early morning is said to be the best time to see the weaver birds
up close.
There are a number of walkways
linking restaurant and other areas together allowing a lot of viewpoints, plus
just beyond the restaurant you can go onto a mud bank right up to the weaver
birds nests, and its said that crocodiles also come out onto this mud bank. The
birds I photographed were at the other side of the lake, slightly too far to get
well on a 400mm. The images of birds shown are sections of the images.
Ideally I need a longer lens here probably 1000mm and a tripod, to get birds at
the other side, neither I had with me on this trip. |
