Mole

Photographers Comment: Mole is large, and unfenced, so animals come and go. The waterhole attracts them to this part of the park, but some at only specific times of the year. There are a lot of animals and bird species, but also a lot of park. For many species you need a long lens.

On my visit I had only the chance to go on one walking safari, it would be good another time to have the time to drive around the park which you can only do, with a guide in the later afternoon, so you are unlikely to be able to cover very much of it.

In some ways its good, very natural and unspoilt, but access is limited and you have no way of knowing where anything is at the time you are there. It would be good to make more use of the time you have there, and an expanded guiding system and places to stop within the larger park would improve this. In the future it is likely to be developed more, and at that time you are likely to be able to see more, but then there will also be many people and it may then be more like a large farm park you find elsewhere.

There is a lot of rough roads to get to Mole so allow enough time when you get there to make it worth while. If you can, go and photograph it now, while its still natural and then go back later perhaps.
