Photographers Comment: This
gave a lot of opportunities to get photos of people in traditional costumes. As
we just called unannounced and I was the only tourist there, this gave me the
chance to see an event that was a normal part of this culture.
Another time I would like to
photograph another funeral, but perhaps a smaller one and then follow it from
the beginning until it was over. The one I Photographed was large, having at
least 4,000 people present at any time, and it got dark and was still
progressing. There are other parts to this that I did not get to photograph on
this occasion. The people of
Ghana are always so friendly and happy even at a funeral, so its a joy to be
there. |
